SNAP Raise Fundraiser
What is SNAP?
SNAP is an email and social media based fundraising organization. It is similar to GoFund me, but it is geared specifically towards fundraising for school and community programs. Several athletics organizations within the district utilize SNAP.
How does it work?
Students will be guided through how to create their own unique SNAP website. They will be asked to set a personal fundraising target and to provide at least 10 email addresses to receive the link to their site. HOWEVER, if you would prefer to work with your student at home to create the site, please tell your student to let our Fundraising Coordinator know during the set up session and instructions will be provided so that you can get started at home. We will also provide a mailing address just in case family and friends would prefer to mail in a check instead of utilizing the website.
The Band Boosters are ALWAYS looking for convenient and high return fundraising opportunities. SNAP has proven to be a safe, no-cost, and effective way to raise funds for the PGHS and KAMS Music Program.
What happens to the funds raised through SNAP?
Every year we want to provide a rich experience for each student in the music program. In fact, it is one of, if not the most active group on both the PG and KAMS campuses. That means that it takes a great deal of money to keep the program operating. The program only receives approximately $7 per student per year! So, to provide well-kept marching uniforms, purchase concert uniforms, field shows, sheet music, to compete in band reviews, jazz competitions, and clinics, to repair and purchase instruments, and to travel (just to name a few things), a great deal of money must be raised every year. So every dollar raised through the SNAP fundraiser goes to the Booster General Fund to offset, and/or cover, the cost of the items mentioned above. Please join us at the September 19th Parent Meeting where we will walk through the 2017-2018 budget for your approval.

Jazz Band Trip to NYC
To Jazz I Band Parents,
The Jazz Band is planning a trip to perform in New York City March 21-25, 2018. Spring break is March 26 – 30, 2018 and this is in addition to (not in place of) Disneyland. This message is intended to provide you with the information that was discussed at the May 17th Parent Meeting and to get a count of those who are interested. We do not have a large window for fundraising as the full payment for the trip, both performers and adults, is due mid-September 2017. The idea is to get a firm count so that planning can continue over the summer.
Students will leave from Sacramento airport. Everyone is responsible for obtaining transportation to and from the airport, but ground transportation is part of the fee in NYC. The students will miss 3 days of school to attend the educational festival performance events. We are still looking into instrument rental for student who play instruments that are too large to ship and looking into the cost of checking a second item (instrument or 2nd bag).
Please reply to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information ASAP:
1. Your name and your student’s name and his/her year in the Fall of 2017 (freshman-senior)
2. Is your student interested? Yes or No (if not, would you mind briefly explaining why?)
3. How many family/friends are interested in attending? (Include the number)
4. Are you willing to pay for the cost of the trip without fundraising over the summer? Yes or No
5. If not, are you willing to aggressively participate in fundraising over the summer and when school begins? Yes or No
6. If you need to pay by credit card, would you be willing to pay the 3% fee charged by Square? Yes or No
