The Pleasant Grove High Band Boosters is an association organized to create interest in and give moral and financial support to the music and related programs of Pleasant Grove High School and Katherine Albiani Middle School, both located in Elk Grove, CA. At Pleasant Grove High School, these programs include Concert/Marching Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Combos, Color Guard, and Winter Percussion; at Albiani, Concert Band, Beginning Band and Jazz Band.

Elk Grove Western Festival Parade
Congratulations to the PGHS Marching band, Color Guard and Dance Company for their outstanding performance at the Western Festival! The band won First Place in the high school band category as well as for Drum Major! Colorguard and Dance Company won Third Place for Drill Team category, and the group also won the special award for Best Parade Band - The Jeannie Womack Trophy! Great job everyone! Band Camp 2012School will be starting on Thursday, August 16th this year. Band Camp for KAMS and PGHS Concert/Marching Band, Jazz Band, Colorguard and Percussion will be held on August 9-10 and 13-15, 2012. Attendance at Band Camp is highly recommended for all students who are planning to be in Concert Band or Jazz Band next year. Meet in PGHS Band Room (HE-15) from 3:00 to 7:30 p.m. Times are tentative. More information will be coming home on Thursday 8/9. Bring your instrument, if you have one. Wear comfortable clothing, covered shoes, and bring sun protection and water bottle. On the first day, the Band Boosters will be hosting an Open House and Orientation for all parents and guardians from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Choir Room (HE-18) to give more information about the program, take shirt orders, get contact information--all the necessary things to make this year go smoothly. Please plan on attending.
Congratulations to Festival Jazz Band and Jazz Combo!Members of the Festival Jazz Band and the Jazz Combo traveled to Reno to perform at the Reno Jazz Festival at University of Nevada Reno on April 27-28. Both groups received Excellent ratings for their performance. In addition, Andrew Maino and Michael Woodson received individual awards for their solos in both performances, and Edmund Velasco received an individual award in the Jazz Combo. Congratulations everyone! It was a fun and instructive weekend for everyone who attended.
Winter Percussion Ensemble - Karma
Congratulations to Our Winter Percussion!!
On Saturday, March 31, the PGHS Winter Percussion Ensemble performed their show "Karma" at the NCBA Winter Championships at Lincoln High School in Stockton. This is their fifth year competing at this event and they won the Championship in the Scholastic Division against six other schools from Northern California! Three years ago, our team took home the Championship Trophy in the Novice Division at Lincoln High School. This has been an amazing season for the team as they were undefeated in their NCBA competitions this year, as well as taking 2nd Place in their first ever participation in a WGI competition in Scholastic A category.
