Pleasant Grove Eagles Marching Band
The Pleasant Grove High Band Boosters is an association organized to create interest in and give moral and financial support to the music and related programs of Pleasant Grove High School and Katherine Albiani Middle School, both located in Elk Grove, CA. At Pleasant Grove High School, these programs include Concert/Marching Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Combos, Color Guard, and Winter Percussion; at Albiani, Concert Band, Beginning Band and Jazz Band.

Last Day !! SNAP Raise Fundraiser
We are down to the final three days of our SNAP fundraiser. While we have made great progress, we are far under last year's final number of $13,918. We want to thank everyone who participated and got us this far! We know that there are many many causes that need donations right now, so we thankful for where we are.
If you have not participated, there still time! Please consider sending the SNAP link to family and friends. Even $10 helps significantly. We want to make sure that we are creating a rich program for all of our students. When we do not make our annual fundraising goals, we have to cut out or cut down on the activities and purchases that the Boosters fund. If we do not make our snap target (beating last year's number) that means we need to add on additional fundraisers throughout the year in hopes that we do not have to cut away parts of the program. We will need your help for those fundraisers as well! We will be presenting the Booster budget at the September 19 General Meeting for your approval. In short, the Boosters must raise $25,000 this year to fund the program.
For family and friends who are not comfortable donating online, please feel free to mail a check made out to "PGH Band Boosters". The checks can be sent in with your student or mailed directly to the school made to the attention of Mike Souliere. Please feel free to reply to this email with any questions.

POW/MIA Ceremony Performance 9/16
Once again the PGHS Band has been asked to perform at the POW/MIA Ceremony in Elk Grove Park on September 16th (this Saturday). This event is "voluntary" and is not mandatory for all members. Please check with your student to see if they volunteered for this Saturday's performance. The itinerary below includes all of the info for meeting and departure times. Please email Mr. Souliere if you have any questions. If you have a large vehicle and can help transport large instruments or stands please notify him asap. Thanks!
What: POW/MIA Ceremony
When: 12:00pm-2:00pm Saturday 9/16 (11:45 am call time)
Where: Elk Grove Regional Park (Rhodes School next to community swimming pool)
Who: Members of the PGHS BAND
Dress: Blue PGHS Band Shirts
Bring your instrument and stand. Musicians will receive 4 hours of community service and free lunch after the performance.
Football Game Volunteers Needed
Please consider helping with the KAMS/PGSH Band Boosters, by selling band spirit gear during one of the home football games. You can help anytime during the football game. We need help with set up at 6pm, sales during the game, and break down at the close of the 3rd quarter. Your help and support is very much appreciated by all band students. PGHS Jazz Band New York Trip
Non-refundable $50 Deposit Due by Sept. 20th
The PGHS Jazz Band will be traveling to New York City in the Spring of 2018 (3/21-3/25). The group will be performing at Riverside Church in Manhattan and also will be visiting many famous museums, venues and landmarks. (This trip is open to non-jazz band members as well). World Strides (travel company) has set up a payment schedule. The first payment of $50 is due by September 20th. This non-refundable deposit will save your student's spot for the trip (chaperones pay separately). The next two due dates for the payment plan will be 12/14 and 2/22. The trip will be discussed in more detail at our September 19th general parent meeting (final costs, itinerary, etc). Deposits may be turned in to Mr. Souliere during class. Please email Mr. Souliere if you have any questions.
